Today we saw patients in clinic and arranged surgeries for the week. There will be many surgeries for club feet and many for fracture deformities and other problems.
Jose broke his wrist last year and after 4 surgeries, he ended up like this:
Marelo is 33 and was born with a condition called fibular hemimelia. This means he has no fibula, his leg is 6 inches short and his foot did not develop correctly. The solution is an amputation of the malformed foot and he will get a prosthesis and finally be able to walk normally.
These are just two of the many people we met today, whose surgeries we will be doing this week. I’ll post more when there’s time…
